The road to get there is not the best as it's quite small and not in great shape but once you get used to it is fine.
We had dinner at the hotel one night and we found it to be a bit expensive for what they offer, 5 euros for a spritz seemed a bit steep.
Other than that it was a wonderful place to spend a few days.
This is 8th year we return to the Castello di San Sergio, a confirmation of our love for this b&b and our second home. Vincenzo, Silvia, Maria, and Olga... read more make up the team that define the uniqueness of this b&b. These individuals are cordial and irreplaceable, in that they contribute substantially to the atmosphere of the Castello. The modern-day storyteller Vincenzo possesses an ability to captivate his audience while conveying important touristic information to his guests.
The cure of the delightful garden is somewhat analogous to the garden of Windsor Castle. An immense applause to Silvia and her green thumb. Additionally, it is Silvia who prepares a wide selection of exquisite homemade cakes and marmelades for breakfast. We also came to learn this year she produces finocchietto, a local digestive.
A word of caution: Once you experience the Castello di San Sergio, you may find yourself returning year after year..

The owners of the Castello, Vincenzo and his mother, graciously greeted us upon our arrival and showed us our room with a spectacular view of the Gulf of Palinuro. Our room was charming. The breakfast was abundant and included home-made pastries which was a real delight.
Vincenzo was always available for questions and suggestions which contributed to a delightful stay. His suggestions on where we should eat, the beaches we should visit, and the historical sites to see were priceless.
I sum, I would recommend this B&B without hesitation to anyone wishing to explore the Cilento region from an insider’s perspective. More

The first place for b&b in Palinuro is well deserved based on the stunning views over the Cilento coast and country... read more and the warm old Italian agri-aristocrat but certainly not too formal armosphere. Breakfast in the garden outside is very special and the adjecent little tower dependance we stayed in was a true relaxing place and a well equiped room. It's à few km outside Palinuro and takes some nerves in driving the last 500m uphill.

The quiet and the green that surround Il Castello di San Sergio were amazing, just what we were looking for, a relaxing holiday . We were fascinated by the charming premises (our bedroom was lovely). The rich breakfast which we took on the outside terrace under the pergola with the ocean view was amazing. The owners, Sylvia and Vincenzo, were very kind and helpful .
Definitely Il Castello di San Sergio is highly recommended.

Clean, large rooms with great amenities inside, but a breathtaking view from the garden and terrace. Wonderful tips for touring the Palinuro region. Great choices of local wines to accompany delicious charcuterie boards in the evening. Peaceful breakfasts with changing pastries each morning outside to soak up the view. What else can be said except we can’t wait to return!
