Penelope

The myth of the Odyssey crosses the coast of Palinuro, and Penelope, wife of Ulysses, gives its name to this beautiful room. Penelope waited for twenty years for the return of her husband Ulysses, who had left for the war in Troy, avoiding choosing one of the suitors, noble suitors to her hand, also thanks to the famous stratagem of the cloth: during the day she wove the shroud for Laertes, father of Ulysses, while he was undoing it at night. Having promised the suitors that she would choose her future husband at the end of the job, she postponed the moment of choice indefinitely.

The warmth of the wooden furniture, scrupulously preserved and cared for since its origins, comes to life in this historic room of the Castle. Nothing is left to chance, and the window overlooking the splendid natural landscape and the Palinurese coast gives a unique touch of charm.
